With two decades of Washington experience spanning Capitol Hill, the executive branch, political campaigns and the private sector, Doug Schwartz is uniquely qualified to help clients solve problems, capitalize on opportunities, and achieve their objectives.

Prior to founding HillNorth, Doug was Chief of Staff to then Senate Republican Conference Chairman John Thune, currently the second-ranking Senate Republican. In that role, he worked closely with senators, senior staff, and the entire Senate leadership team to develop legislative and political strategy.

Doug also served as Staff Director of the Republican Policy Committee, the Senate leadership office comprised of leading policy experts that functions as a legislative “think thank” for lawmakers and staff.

Before coming to the Senate, Doug served in President George W. Bush’s White House as well as in senior positions at the U.S. Department of Energy.

Doug is a proud graduate of DePauw University and holds degrees from Georgetown University Law Center and University of Cincinnati College of Law.
